Job Description
Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Paraprofessional to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and helping those with developmental disabilities thrive in an educational setting. This position is a 10 month contract and follows a traditional school schedule.Responsibilities:
- Support the lead teacher in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs
- Assist students with classroom activities and assignments
- Provide one-on-one and group support to students who require additional help
- Help maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Collaborate with teachers and parents to monitor student progress
- Implement behavior management strategies as needed
Requirements:
- Experience working with children, particularly those with developmental disabilities
- Knowledge of behavior management techniques
- Familiarity with curriculum development and lesson planning
- Ability to assist in classroom management and organization
- Previous experience in childcare or educational settings is a plus
- Knowledge of Autism Spectrum Disorder or other educational methodologies is beneficial
