In this role, you'll help create a fun, engaging, and safe environment where children can grow and learn while upholding the YMCA values of honesty, respect, responsibility and caring. Duties:
Help provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for young children Support lead teachers with daily activities and classroom supervision Foster the YMCA's core values of honesty, respect, responsibility and caring Assist with implementing curriculum and guiding structured and free play activities Promote positive behavior and help maintain classroom routines Attend to children's basic needs including meals, rest, and outdoor play Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and family engagement events
Requirements:
18 years old High school diploma or equivalent required CDA credential or equivalent preferred Completion of
DCF MODS
(Introductory Child Care Training, Parts 1 & 2) 1+ year of experience working with children in a developmental setting Able to work with infants, toddlers, and young children both indoors and outdoors Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, talk, hear, and lift up to 40 lbs Must be comfortable participating in activities and engaging physically with children Vision requirements include close/distance vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment Pass a 10-panel drug screen. Clear a Level 2 background check•
Pay & Perks:
Full-time, $14.75 - $20.00 per hour (based on experience). Schedule is Monday through Friday.
