Paul Catholic Preschool's mission is to encourage the spiritual, intellectual, and emotional growth of each child using developmentally appropriate practices. Working in partnership with family members as well as our parish and community, we provided a nurturing, safe, Catholic environment where children are inspired to learn, play, and grow. We are a NAEYC-accredited, play-based program and a Positive Behavior Support (PWPBS) school. The 2-Year-Old Assistant Teacher supports the Lead Teacher in creating a nurturing, developmentally appropriate learning environment where children learn through purposeful play and hands-on experiences. The Assistant Teacher helps incorporate academic concepts in meaningful ways while using PWPBS strategies and positive guidance techniques to support social-emotional growth and encourage positive behavior.
Education Requirements:
High School Diploma, 40 hours Childcare Training through the Department of Children and Families (DCF) required. Working towards a degree in Early Childhood preferred.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Safety and care of children Helping the lead teacher implement academic curriculum using Creative Curriculum, the Standards and Benchmarks for Florida, NAEYC, and Positive Behavior Support Learn and implement PBS (Positive Behavior Support) strategies within the classroom. Interaction with children and their families General support to the lead teacher Provide care for diapering needs Clean room at the end of the day Qualifications Prior experience working with a group of children in an educational or catholic setting Must be positive, creative, caring, and energetic Ability to work with the lead teacher during a variety of daily activities to engage children The successful candidate must pass a Level II FBI fingerprint clearance, Safe Environment Program, as well as complete all mandated trainings offered by the diocese and the local parish. The candidate must possess fluent speaking and writing skills in English.
