Job Description
Summary
The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) is a paraprofessional who practices under the close, ongoing supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) in both classroom and home settings. The RBT is primarily responsible for the direct implementation of behavior-analytic services. The RBT does not design intervention or assessment plans. It is the responsibility of the RBT supervisor to determine which tasks an RBT may perform as a function of his or her training, experience, and competence. The BCBA supervising the RBT is responsible for the work performed by the RBT on the cases they are overseeing. Applicants for this position should meet the requirements for securing the paraprofessional position and be willing to complete the required 40-hour training to complete the requirements for obtaining the RBT certification. Essential Duties Assists the Behavior Interventionist (BI) in the preparation of educational materials/data collection materials/etc. Assist the Behavior Interventionist with behavior reduction assessments or skill acquisition plans
Assist with addressing social skills instruction
Works individually with students and/or in small groups to help reinforce learning objectives
Assists with implementation of students' Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) as assigned by the BI (in school and home settings)
Completes the PCI (Positive Crisis Intervention) physical management training provided by the District Participates in required additional training related to behavior analytic services when applicable Performs other duties as assigned by SEC Administrator (Behavior Interventionists, Coordinators and/or Directors) Required Education
High School Diploma or GEDMust pass the GACE para assessment; in lieu of the GACE Assessment and have 60 semester hours or 90 quarter hours of a grade of C or better; hold an Associate's Degree or higher at a GaPSC-accepted accredited institution is acceptableCertification/Licensure
Must be able to obtain Georgia PSC Paraprofessional Certificate; Must complete RBT certification requirementsExperience Qualifications
0-1 year experience requiredKnowledge/Skills/Abilities
Classroom experience and/or proven ability to work with children preferred
Must be able to follow written and oral instructions quickly and accurately
Must be able to handle sensitive and confidential information
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with students and adults
Excellent organizational skills and flexibility
Technology proficiency (computers, AV, office equipment, etc.)

Ability to lift and carry 30-50 pounds with assistance
Ability to push or pull a maximum of 50 pounds
