Job Description

Job Overview Join our vibrant early childhood education team as a Pre-K Paraprofessional, where your enthusiasm and dedication will directly impact young learners' growth and development. In this dynamic role, you will support classroom teachers in creating a nurturing, engaging environment for preschool-aged children. Your energy and commitment will help foster a love of learning, promote social-emotional skills, and ensure each child's individual needs are met with care and professionalism. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with children, contribute to curriculum implementation, and develop foundational skills in education. Duties Assist lead teachers in implementing lesson plans that focus on literacy, math, and early childhood development principles. Support classroom management by encouraging positive behavior and helping children develop social skills through engaging activities. Provide individualized attention to children with diverse needs, including those with disabilities or autism, ensuring inclusive participation in classroom activities. Help organize classroom materials, prepare learning centers, and facilitate hands-on activities aligned with curriculum goals such as Montessori or preschool standards. Monitor children's progress and communicate observations to teachers to support tailored instructional strategies. Support daily routines including snack time, bathroom breaks, nap times, and outdoor play to promote a safe and nurturing environment. Collaborate with teachers on curriculum development efforts to enhance literacy education, math readiness, and overall classroom experience. Qualifications Hold or must be eligible to hold a Georgia Paraprofessional certificate. Prior experience working with young children in preschool or daycare settings is highly preferred. Knowledge of early childhood education practices, including childhood development theories and behavior management techniques. Familiarity with special education strategies and working with individuals with disabilities or autism is a plus. Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with teachers, parents, and students. Ability to adapt lesson plans for diverse learners and implement curriculum components such as literacy education and math activities. Experience with classroom management tools and techniques to foster a positive learning environment. Certification or coursework in early childhood education or related fields is advantageous but not mandatory; enthusiasm for ongoing professional development is encouraged.
