Job Description

Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Make a difference each day supporting young learners as a dedicated paraprofessional in a Special Education Pre-K program. This full-time, contract position spans the 2026-2027 school year and focuses on helping students ages 3-5 with diverse needs. You'll be part of a compassionate team, providing hands-on support as children achieve important milestones in their educational and personal development.
What You'll Bring:
Experience or strong interest in working with Pre-K children, especially those receiving special education services A GaPSC Paraprofessional Certificate is required prior to starting, but motivated applicants in the process of obtaining certification are also encouraged to interview Comfort with assisting students in toilet training, diapering, and feeding Patience and positivity supporting non-verbal or minimally verbal children with behavioral needs Commitment to fostering a nurturing, supportive classroom environment Excellent communication skills and a collaborative spirit
What You'll Do:
Assist Pre-K students during daily routines, including classroom activities, meals, toileting, and transitions Support students' social, emotional, and academic growth Implement behavior intervention strategies in collaboration with teachers and therapists Foster an atmosphere of respect where every child feels valued and included Work closely with lead teachers and staff to ensure the best learning opportunities for each student This role offers the rewarding opportunity to see your efforts reflected in the progress of young learners each day.
