School days, Monday-Friday Job Summary ND Global Consulting Services, Inc. is seeking a qualified American Sign Language (ASL) Paraprofessional - Special Education to support students in a school-based setting in Columbia County, Georgia. The selected candidate will work under the direction of classroom and special education teachers to assist students with disabilities, support communication access, and help implement instructional and behavioral plans. This position is ideal for a patient, dependable, and student-focused professional who is fluent in American Sign Language and has experience supporting children in an educational or special education environment. Key Responsibilities Provide classroom support to one or more students with disabilities under teacher supervision. Use American Sign Language to support student communication and access to instruction. Assist with one-on-one, small group, and classroom activities based on student needs and IEP goals. Support implementation of Individualized Education Programs and Behavior Intervention Plans as directed. Assist with student supervision during classroom activities, transitions, and school routines. Help collect and document student progress data as requested by the teacher. Support students with assistive technology, adaptive materials, and communication devices. Assist with preparing instructional materials, classroom organization, and general classroom support. Help students with self-help needs such as feeding, toileting, dressing, or mobility support when required. Maintain confidentiality of student information at all times. Follow the direction of the supervising teacher, principal, and school administration. Perform other related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Must be fluent in American Sign Language. Must meet one of the following paraprofessional qualification requirements: Completed at least two years of higher education study, equal to 60 semester hours or 90 quarter hours; or Associate's degree or higher; or High school diploma or GED and successful completion of the Georgia-required Paraprofessional Assessment. Prior experience working with children, students with disabilities, or school-based programs preferred. Ability to follow teacher directions and complete assigned duties with minimal supervision. Strong communication, patience, and interpersonal skills. Basic computer, clerical, and assistive technology skills preferred. Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality. Preferred Skills Experience supporting students with IEPs or behavior plans. Knowledge of child development and special education classroom support. Experience with data collection, student supervision, and instructional support. Crisis prevention, behavioral support, or CPI training preferred but not required at time of application. Physical Requirements May require standing, walking, bending, squatting, pushing, pulling, and sitting on the floor during student activities. May require assisting with student transfers or lifting as needed in accordance with school procedures. Must be able to follow instructions and safely support students in a school environment.
