Job Description

Job Summary Under general supervision, assists instructor/teacher with providing education and/or training to students. Prepares instructional materials and maintains order and cleanliness in the learning environment. Plans and conducts child development activities. Monitors and supervises various classroom functions. Primary Duties & Responsibilities Assists in presenting subject matter Assists instructor/teacher in maintaining an effective learning environment Assists students with meeting and maintaining individual physical needs Completes documentation of student progress Distributes teaching materials Keeps records of daily observations and information about activities Observes and evaluates individual children Operates duplicating machines and other equipment as needed to produce or reproduce program related materials Prepares lesson materials, bulletin board displays, exhibits, equipment, and demonstrations Request and maintain assigned classroom supplies, materials and equipment Sanitizes toys and play equipment Tutors and assists individually or in small groups to reinforce learning concepts
Minimum Qualifications:
High School diploma/GED and one (1) year of experience working in an instructional/childcare setting; or one (1) year of experience required at the lower level Instruction Paraprofessional 1 (EDS010) or position equivalent. Preferred Qualifications In addition to Entry Qualifications, Preferred Qualifications may be added by the agency.
