Job Description
Job Overview As a Teacher's Aide, your enthusiasm and dedication will make a meaningful difference in the lives of young learners. In this vital role, you will support classroom teachers by assisting with lesson implementation, managing classroom activities, and fostering a positive environment that encourages learning, curiosity and growth. Your energy, patience and compassion will help create an engaging space where children can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Responsibilities Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with diverse needs, including children with autism or disabilities, ensuring they receive personalized attention. Help manage classroom behavior through positive behavior management techniques and classroom management strategies. Foster a nurturing environment by supporting children's social-emotional development and encouraging positive interactions among students. Supervise children during activities, field trips, transitions, meals, and outdoor and indoor play to ensure safety and well-being. Support classroom / school organization by maintaining learning materials, educational resources, childcare supplies, outside and inside setup, morning and afternoon snack preparation. Communicate effectively with teachers and other staff members to share observations about student progress and behavior. Basic Qualifications High School Diploma Prior experience working with children in educational or childcare settings is highly preferred; experience in daycare, preschool, private school environments, or project / play based classrooms is advantageous. Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and students. Prior experience helping children who are not potty trained, ages 2 - 3 years old. Demonstrated ability to manage a classroom environment confidently while maintaining safety standards. Compassionate attitude combined with patience and adaptability to meet the needs of diverse learners. Satisfactory background check, Health and TB clearance. Appropriate continued education to meet Hawaii DHS licensing requirements is required.
