Keahole Salary:
$3,194 to $4,038 per month (SR-10)
Level II Note:
Hiring rates will be based on availability of funds, the applicant's qualifications, and other relevant factors.
Shift work:

The Visitor Information Program Assistant II is responsible for greeting, welcoming, and assisting the traveling public at the Ellison Onizuka Kona International Airports at Keahole , for providing information of interest to visitors to encourage travel to the major islands in the Hawaiian chain; and for incidentally performing various clerical duties and other related duties as assigned. . To qualify, applicants must meet ALL of the following requirements:
Basic Experience:
Applicants must possess experience which demonstrated the ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instructions, and a high degree of verbal skill. This requirement may also be met with the possession of a high school diploma or equivalent.
General Experience:
One (1) year of work experience which demonstrated positive evidence that applicants possess patience, tact, and an even temper in meeting and dealing with others.
Special Language Requirement :
For Visitor Information Program Assistant II, in order to be considered for appointment and to enter on duty, applicants must possess knowledge of the ability to speak the ONE of the following languages in addition to the English language:
J APANESE, MANDARIN, KOREAN, TAGALOG, HAWAIIAN, SAMOAN, SPANISH, FRENCH.
Driver's License:
Applicants must possess a valid driver's license at the time of appointment.
Substitutions Allowed:
Relevant substitutions as described in the complete Minimum Qualification Requirements will apply.
Federal Criminal History Records Check:
In accordance with Federal regulations, persons who are being considered for employment in positions which require unescorted access to secured areas at the airport must undergo a pre-employment fingerprint-based criminal history record check. In order to be granted the Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) clearance, prospective employees must not have been convicted, or found "not guilty by reason of insanity," of a disqualifying criminal offense within ten years from the date of the application. Upon recommendation for hire, prospective employees will be required to successfully undergo the fingerprint-based criminal history record check and be found free of disqualifying convictions during the preceding ten years. TESTING INFORMATION
The examination for this recruitment will be conducted on an unassembled basis where the examination score is based on an evaluation and rating of your education and experience.
