Job Description

Adventures Preschool is looking for an assistant teacher who would enjoy working in our hands on, play-based, parent cooperative preschool. Position is for the 2026-27 school year and start date is August 24.
Position Description:
Assistant teacher for preschool classroom Part time-M-F morning August 24-May 31 Possibility of hours in June 2027
Position Requirements:
Knowledge, Skills, Characteristics, and Experience:
Knowledge of early childhood development Experience working with children 2-6 Experience working or teaching in a preschool classroom Ability to work with a lead teacher and parents in a cooperative format Sensitive to individual and cultural diversity Must be able to maintain confidentiality Effective written and oral communication
Classroom Responsibilities:
Assist lead teacher in providing appropriate early childhood education experiences Assist in promoting and supervising the healthy emotional, social, intellectual and physical development of each child Assist in evaluation of children in preparation of parent conferences Assist with parent volunteers in the classroom Assist in the arrangement and upkeep of the classroom and all classroom equipment and materials Help children establish good habits of toileting and personal hygiene Assist in supervising all activities to ensure safety of each child at all times Attend fall parent orientation and spring end of year celebration Physical Able to stand at least 4 hours Able to bend, stoop, and lift up to 60 pounds Able to sit on the floor for extended periods of time
Education:
High School diploma or GED Prefer a 2 year degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development.

$18.00 - $20.00 per hour
