Job Description

Assistant Teacher Position Summary The Assistant Teacher supports the Lead Teacher in maintaining a safe, clean, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment while assisting with daily classroom operations and child supervision. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assist in supervising children and maintaining classroom safety. Support implementation of daily activities and routines. Assist with caregiving duties including diapering, toileting, meals, and transitions. Maintain positive interactions with children, families, and coworkers. Assist with classroom cleaning, organization, and sanitation. Follow classroom schedules and center policies. Support behavior management using positive guidance techniques. Assist with daily documentation and classroom responsibilities. Maintain confidentiality and professionalism. Participate in trainings and maintain required certifications and CEUs. Report concerns regarding children, safety, or classroom operations to the Lead Teacher or administration. Demonstrate dependability and professionalism in attendance and performance. Complete all assigned nightly cleaning responsibilities before the end of each shift. Participate in scheduled weekly deep cleaning procedures throughout the classroom and center. Ensure cleaning checklists are completed accurately and signed off on daily and weekly as required. Maintain classroom cleanliness and sanitation standards in accordance with licensing and center expectations. Report cleaning, maintenance, or safety concerns to administration promptly. Qualifications Must meet state requirements for Assistant Teacher qualifications. Ability to work collaboratively within a classroom team. Strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to actively engage with children throughout the day. Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, in order to maintain child safety, complete required documentation, communicate with families and staff, and comply with licensing regulations. Ability to understand center policies, licensing requirements, and safety procedures. Ability to maintain accurate written documentation and communicate professionally with families and staff. •

$14.00 - $15.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
