POSITION OVERVIEW
Lakes Partnership School serves individuals in elementary through middle school with high levels of behavioral needs. Employees will need to be comfortable working with these individuals, and will be required to physically intervene when necessary, and attend school field trips. Many individuals communicate through challenging behaviors such as: spitting, biting, hair pulling, hitting/kicking, running/elopement or verbal aggression. Through the training that

EDUCATION:
High School Diploma or equivalent
LICENSURE
EXPERIENCE:
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Assist Special Education teacher in implementing the educational program and Behavior Invention Plans for students in a special education classroom Work cooperatively and collaboratively with AEA staff, resident district staff, and colleagues for the benefit of the student Establish and maintain positive relationships with students, colleagues, and other team members Act in the best interest of the student in handling situations that arise Assist Special Education teacher by reporting student progress and concerns Utilize technology to perform word processing, Excel, and other clerical duties as assigned Collect and record student data Attend and participates in staff meetings, student team meetings, and agency meetings as needed Participate in professional development and learning opportunities related to job Be flexible and coachable to learning new strategies

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to travel between schools and sites served Normal, routine levels of activity related to bending, carrying, climbing, hearing, lifting, reaching, sitting, standing, vision and walking, and may also involve above-average levels of activity at times that can't always be anticipated
