Instructional Aide position for our 2026-2027 academic year.
Description:
The Instructional Aide works under the direction of the Division Directors and classroom teachers to support student learning and success across a variety of educational settings. This position provides direct academic support through classroom assistance, small-group instruction, individualized interventions, and implementation of student accommodations. The Instructional Aide also helps foster a positive, structured, and inclusive learning environment that promotes student engagement and achievement. The position plays an important role in maintaining a safe, consistent, and supportive school culture by helping students navigate daily routines, transitions, and social interactions. This is a student-facing position with approximately 80% of time dedicated to academic support and intervention services and 20% dedicated to student supervision and school-wide support during non-instructional periods.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree preferred. Previous aide or teaching experience preferred Demonstrated ability to assist with instructional activities Ability to instruct students in the direction of the teacher Able to analyze and interpret data to inform instructional decisions Ability to maintain a positive learning environment Works well with students, staff, and the public Ability and willingness to take initiative and step in when a need arises Excellent organizational skills Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Able to work under pressure Maintain confidentiality of staff and students
Major Responsibilities:
Academic Support (80%) Provide instructional support in a variety of educational settings, including whole-class instruction, small-group interventions, individualized student support, assessment administration, and implementation of student accommodations and intervention plans. Deliver push-in academic support within the classroom by assisting students with reading, mathematics, and other learning activities under the direction of the classroom teacher. Serve as the weekly substitute teacher for the Elementary International Baccalaureate (IB) Coordinator, ensuring continuity of instruction and program support. Assist with student assessments, progress monitoring, and data collection to support instructional decision-making. Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment that promotes student success, collaboration, and respect among students, families, and staff. Collaborate effectively with teachers, specialists, and administrators to support academic, social-emotional, and behavioral student needs. Maintain confidentiality and professionalism while supporting the educational mission and values of the school. Student Supervision & Non-Academic Support (20%) Supervise students during lunch periods, ensuring smooth transitions, maintaining appropriate behavior expectations, and assisting with cleaning between groups. Fulfill before and after school supervision duties, such as acting as a crosswalk guard, monitoring playground activity, and ensuring student safety before teachers are on duty. Support the implementation of consistent routines and expectations during non-instructional times. Other Attend faculty meetings as required Seek assistance should emergencies arise Represent the Sage International Network of Schools in a positive manner Perform other duties as assigned
