This is a non-exempt, 10-month position with salary placement in accordance with the District's Classified Salary Schedule. The position includes, one (1) sick day per month, and four (4) personal leave days annually. The Prep Provider assists and provides information to students in a variety of disciplines such as computers, physical education and/or music. Fundamental skills along with tutoring and supplemental instruction may also be provided to students at various grade levels. The principal duties of the position are performed in a classroom environment.QUALIFICATIONS
Meet Idaho Code 08.02.02.007.10 Paraprofessional requirements, which require at least a high school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED) and: Demonstrate through a state-approved academic assessment knowledge of and the ability to assist in instructing or preparing students to be instructed as applicable to the academic areas they are providing support in or two(2) years of study at an accredited postsecondary educational institution or obtained an associate degree or higher -level degree.Knowledge of:
Instructional methods, procedures, and objectives, including classroom instruction and presentation, lesson plans, curriculum implementation, educational software, testing and grading, and classroom management; Knowledge in classroom content area: i.e., computers, systems and operations, and/or music fundamentals and theory; School and District rules, codes, standards, and expected student behaviors.Ability to:
Provide specific information to students for specific curricula such as P.E., music or computers; Assist in subject matter preparation and clarify information for student learning; Monitor and document student progress, review and correct papers, recommends grades, and maintain student documentation; Perform classroom activities and clerical and record-keeping duties; Create and update reports and files, and other documentation, as needed; Assist teachers with clerical duties including, but not limited to, copying, inputting records and data into a computer, faxing, text and document preparation, and related duties; Participates in appropriate training, workshop, and in-service programs; Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Maintain student, school, and parental confidentiality; Operate standard office equipment; Observe District policies and procedures; Establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, teachers and staff members, and other District personnel.ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Performs all work duties and activities in accordance with District policies, procedures and safety practices; Maintains student and District confidentiality.OTHER RELATED DUTIES
Performs teacher assistant, lunchroom, playground, bus, and other monitoring duties as assigned; Performs other duties as assigned.EVALUATION
The performance of this position will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on the Evaluation of Classified personnel.PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands and work environment indicated below are examples of the physical aspects this position classification must perform in carrying out essential job functions.- Persons performing service in this position classification will regularly exert 10 to 25 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
- Ability to sit, walk, or stand for extended periods of time. Occasionally, physical requirements include the ability to navigate multi-story buildings during an emergency situation.
- Ability to perceive the nature of sound, near and far vision, depth perception, providing oral information, manual dexterity to operate business-related equipment, and handling and working with various materials and objects are important aspects of this job.
CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT
All classified employees of the Minidoka County School District #331, including those in this position, are "at will" employees, meaning employment may be terminated by either the employer or employee at any time for any reason, consistent with applicable state or federal law. This job description/classification specification does not constitute an employment agreement and is subject to change as the needs of the District and position requirements evolve. Employment is contingent upon Board approval, successful completion of a federal background check, and a pre-employment drug-free workplace screen.
