I. TITLE
Special Program Aide - Pathways
II. QUALIFICATIONS
A. Minimum of 48 college credits or a minimum score of 457 on a ParaPro Praxis. B. Demonstrated aptitude for the work to be performed. C. Ability to work with staff, students, and the public. D. Patient, yet firm. E. Mandt training or the ability to complete Mandt training. G. Able to perform assigned duties H. Previous experience preferred, but not mandatory. I. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

Building Administrator.
IV. JOB GOALS
To support the delivery of School District 91's written, taught, tested and reported curriculum and contribute to maximizing student achievement as tested with the Idaho Standards Achievement Test. To work closely with special education students on a regular basis to provide them with the support they need to gain full benefits from the District's special education program.
V. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
A. Helps the teacher provide a well-organized, smoothly functioning class environment in which students can take full advantage of the instructional program and available resource materials. B. Prepares for classroom activities under the supervision of the Resource Room Teacher. C. Works with small groups of students to reinforce materials initially introduced by the teacher. D. Assists individual children in need of special attention. E. Performs clerical duties relating to their assignment. F. Guides independent assignments established by the teacher. G. Assists teacher with non-instructional classroom duties. H. Checks notebooks, corrects papers, and supervises testing and make-up work. I. Assists in duties relating to the supervision of students as assigned by the Building Principal. J. Helps prepare class displays and bulletin boards. K. Constructs supplementary materials for use in the classroom under the teacher's supervision. L. Strives to improve and maintain job skills through in-service training programs and other means. M. Maintains high standards of ethical behavior and confidentiality. N. Has regular and predictable attendance.
VI. OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
A. Performs all other duties as assigned.
VII. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
This is a limited full-time position scheduled for 28.75 hours per week during the school year. Benefits will be in accordance with approved Board policy. Wages will be in accordance with the Classified Salary Schedule as a Grade 5 - $16.39 or $17.19 (with a bachelors degree or 5 years relevant experience) per hour. This is an "at will" position in that the employer or employee may terminate employment at any time or for any reason consistent with applicable state or federal law. The "employment at will" policy cannot be changed verbally or in writing, unless the change is specifically authorized in writing and expressly approved by the Board of Trustees of District 91.
VIII. EVALUATION
Performance of this position will be evaluated annually by the Building Administrator in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on the evaluation of classified personnel. This position has been given an overall physical classification of light duty.
