Due to the school's continuing popularity and growth, we are currently seeking to appoint several enthusiastic full-time Learning Assistants.
The following position is available:
Early Years/Primary program (ages 3-7):
Classroom Learning Assistants Purpose:
The role of a Learning Assistant is extremely varied. Duties include assisting class teachers, preparing learning resources, creating wall displays, assisting with reading and other school work, and supervising breaks, drop-off, and pick-up.
Teaching and Learning:
Help to maintain a clean, safe and healthy environment Assist Teacher to prepare learning resources Provide children with self-care support skills, language and social development skills, supervise as well as monitor children. Work with students individually or in small groups of children on a variety of activities, including assisting teachers with the observation, assessment, and recording of children's progress, when required. Leading class lessons, circle times in absence of Teacher, if needed. Help to maintain all classroom, hallway and front reception displays and parent information boards. o foster good and appropriate working relationships with children, parents, and external agencies. Attend professional development and training sessions. Enforce school rules and policies. To work and share within the life of the school according to the school's mission and values.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree preferred (Early Childhood Education preferred, but not required) Experience working with young children
