Toddler Morning Assistant | Mon - Fri - 8:00am - 2:00pm

The Montessori School of Lake Forest is seeking a Toddler Morning Assistant (ages 15 months - 3 years). This is a full year position starting August 17, 2026. The specific shift we are looking to fill is Monday through Friday, 8:00am - 2:00pm (30 hours a week). This position is full year. The Assistant works together with the Toddler Directress to nurture, guide and teach children utilizing the Montessori method. The ideal candidate will be reliable, and possess a patient, positive and respectful manner toward children in his/her care.

Responsibilities include:

Ability to maintain confidentiality and supportive respect for colleagues, children and families Assisting children with self-care, including diapering and toileting Classroom stocking, organization, and daily cleaning Supervising indoor and outdoor recess with children Observing children, and supporting class rules and class procedures Sharing staffing responsibility for Club Days (dates on which the school is open for enrolled families) Qualifications include: Good communication skills and strong work ethic Investment in continuous learning and development Ability to collaborate, multi-task and learn through observation and modeling High School diploma required; two years of college preferred Prior experience working with children preferred We are a strong school community, dedicated to Montessori principles, committed to inspiring independence, self- confidence, respect, and academic excellence.
