Early Head Start Assistant Teacher
BASE WAGE
$17.68-$19.73 per hour based on education level.

DESCRIPTION
Skip-a-Long Childhood Centers, part of SAL Community Services, is the Quad Cities area's leading provider of early childhood care and education and now includes the Early Head Start Child Care Partnerships program. We provide a safe, secure and supportive environment centered on how playing can charge the mind of the children we care for. The Assistant Teacher supports the Teacher in developing a quality learning environment which is developmentally appropriate and actively engages children in the learning process. Through experience this position will serve to enhance the child's physical, emotional, cognitive, and social growth. The Assistant Teacher collaborates with the Teacher in implementing curriculum as well as maintaining appropriate and regular communication with families.
You will also:
Ensure safety practices in creating a secure environment that minimizes the risk of accidents and injuries. Assist in creating a positive, inclusive, and safe classroom environment that encourages social interaction, emotional well-being and growth. Assist in the design and implementation of lesson plans based on knowledge of individual children's interests and needs. Develop strong relationship with family/guardian to support each child's development. Engage in continuous professional growth and development. Salary, benefits and perks Due to current funding from the Illinois Apprenticeship Pilot Project dependent on education and Illinois Gateways to Opportunity Credential attainment hourly pay for this position ranges from $17.25-$19.25. Additional details regarding this project will be discussed upon interview. Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. A full list of job responsibilities will be provided prior to an interview. This position must obtain required background clearances. Education and Experience Required:
Must be 18 years old or older with a High School Diploma or equivalency certificate (GED) required. Meet the requirements established by the regulatory agency for the state in which employed.
Preferred:
Experience working with children.
