Summary We are seeking a dedicated Child and Youth Program Assistant to join our team at Middle Way House. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting our childcare and youth programs, helping to create a safe and nurturing environment for children and adolescents affected by trauma. This position is based in Bloomington, IN. Responsibilities Assist in the implementation of childcare and youth programs that promote safety and emotional well-being. Provide behavior management support to children and youth in various activities. Engage with children through educational and recreational activities that foster development. Support the coordination of tutoring sessions and educational resources for youth. Maintain a safe environment by adhering to safety protocols and first aid procedures. Collaborate with staff to assess the needs of children and adapt programs accordingly. Requirements Experience in childcare or youth program settings is essential. Strong behavior management skills to effectively support children's needs. Knowledge of childhood development principles is highly desirable. First aid certification is preferred; willingness to obtain certification if not currently held. Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team and communicate effectively with children and families.
