ASSISTANT TEACHER
positions in our Fishers YMCA Early Learning program. Under the guidance of the Lead Teacher, Assistant Teachers are responsible for directly supervising a group of children while engaging with them in a variety of activities throughout the day. Assistant Teachers support success in programs by interacting positively with parents, other staff, and young children to develop trusting relationships. Successfull team members also foster social, physical, spiritual, and mental growth in program participants by demonstrating the YMCA Core Values of caring, honesty, responsibility, and respect

At least 18 years of age Understanding and knowledge of children, their behavior and development and specific knowledge in preschool curriculum and age-appropriate activities, crafts and music Ability to relate to the developmental needs of youth ages 2-5 is essential Experience and ability to communicate with children, parents & YMCA personnel effectively Willingness to learn and work under the supervision of the classroom teacher
