The Journey Christian Academy exists to partner with families in cultivating Christ-centered academic excellence, character development, and a love for lifelong learning. Every team member is expected to support and uphold this mission through their work and interactions with students, staff, and parents.
Position Summary:
The Teacher Aide assists the classroom teacher in creating a nurturing, safe, and Christ-centered learning environment. The aide supports instruction, classroom management, and student engagement while modeling Christian character and values.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the classroom teacher with instructional activities and preparation of materials. Assist with supervision of students in the classroom, during transitions, recess, lunch, and other school activities. Provide small group or one-on-one academic support as directed by the teacher. Foster a positive, respectful, and Christ-honoring environment for all students. Help manage classroom organization, displays, and supplies. Reinforce school rules and classroom expectations consistently and lovingly. Communicate student needs, concerns, and successes to the teacher promptly. Assist with clerical tasks such as copying, organizing, and grading as requested. Participate in school-wide events, devotionals, and professional development opportunities. Uphold the values, mission, and statement of faith of The Journey Christian Academy.
Qualifications:
Must have at least 3 years in a classroom experience. A personal and growing relationship with Jesus Christ. Agreement with the mission and values of The Journey Christian Academy. High school diploma or equivalent required; some college or degree preferred A heart for children and a desire to support their academic and spiritual growth. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to follow directions and work cooperatively with teachers, staff, and parents. Patience, flexibility, and a servant's heart.
