  • Full-time The Applied Skills Assistant provides essential support to the lead teacher and students within the Applied Skills classroom at West Noble Elementary.
This role is focused on fostering an inclusive, productive learning environment for students in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grades who require specialized academic and behavioral support.
Responsibilities Instructional Support:
Assist the classroom teacher in delivering modified lesson plans and providing one-on-one or small-group academic support.
Student Advocacy:
Help students navigate their daily schedules, ensuring they remain engaged and supported in their learning goals.
Classroom Management:
Assist in maintaining a safe, organized, and positive classroom environment as directed by the teacher.
Behavioral Assistance:
Provide gentle guidance and implementation of behavioral intervention plans to help students succeed socially and academically.
Collaboration:
Work closely with the educational team to monitor student progress and adapt support as needed. Qualifications To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the Highly Qualified standards set by the State of Indiana and the Federal government:
Age:
Must be 18 years or older.
Education:
High school diploma or GED equivalent, and one of the following: Completion of at least 60 college credit hours or A passing score on an approved qualifying exam (e.g., the ParaPro assessment or school-specific exams). This job description is subject to change.
