Job Description

Job Summary Join our dynamic team as a 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21st CCLC) Site Assistant PRN! In this vibrant role, you will support after-school programs designed to enrich children's educational experiences and foster their personal growth. Your enthusiasm and dedication will help create a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment where children can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. This position offers flexible hours to accommodate program needs, making it an ideal opportunity for motivated individuals passionate about working with children and supporting their development. Duties Assist in managing classroom activities and maintaining a positive learning environment through effective classroom management techniques Support teachers and program staff in implementing educational curricula, including tutoring and enrichment activities Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities, ensuring safety and appropriate behavior management Provide basic first aid when necessary, adhering to health and safety protocols Engage children in recreational activities such as sports coaching, arts, theater, or childcare to promote childhood development Support special education needs by assisting with individualized instruction and behavior management strategies Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and staff to promote a welcoming community atmosphere Work Schedule Academic Year (August-May)
  • 1:30pm-6:30pm Monday
  • Thursday 9:00am-11:00am Friday (as needed/assigned) Summer Program (5-6 weeks, June-July)
  • 8:30am-1:30pm Monday
  • Thursday 9:00am-11:00am Friday (as needed/assigned)
Note:
position may have breaks over Christmas/New Years holiday and between academic year and summer programming Qualifications Prior experience working with children in settings such as daycare, camp, tutoring, or babysitting is preferred Knowledge of classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies Certification or training in first aid and CPR is a plus Background in early childhood education or childhood development is advantageous Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams Ability to implement activities related to sports coaching, theater, or other enrichment programs is desirable Passion for working with children and supporting their social-emotional growth Join us in making a meaningful difference in the lives of young learners!
