Job Description

Education:
MUST HAVE
:  Two (2) years of college experience; OR  A two-year college degree; OR  High school graduate or equivalent and passed the State approved examination (ParaPro Assessment) Must have a current driver's license Work under the direction of the classroom teacher in an OUTDOOR environment to assist individual students with tasks assigned by the teacher; assist students in small groups and individual learning situations; and monitor class while teacher works with groups or individuals.  Follow directions from the classroom teacher.  Assist the classroom teacher with implementing instructional strategies.  Assist the teacher with instructional and other educational duties to support student learning.  Administer to the physical needs of students.  Support teachers in providing positive learning opportunities and support Positive Behavior Interventions in the building.  Perform lunchroom, playground, restroom, and/or bus supervision as assigned by the principal.  Perform student health and safety related tasks necessary for a particular student or students including, but not limited to, health care services related to students with diabetes, basic life support, therapeutic, and sanitary service, and taking other actions reasonably necessary to prevent harm or injury to a student as determined by the student's Individual Health Plan (IHP), Individual Education Plan (IEP), or 504 Plan.  Perform other duties assigned by the teacher and the Principal as related to instructional practices.
