06/02/2026 About this opportunity: The Teacher Aide position will assist the Lead Teacher in providing for all aspects of a successful afterschool program for a cohort of MuncieP3 students at Longfellow Elementary School in Muncie, IN. You will develop positive relationships with the children and provide them with motivational support and guidance. Candidates must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship. What you'll do and what you'll bring:
Position Description:
The Teacher Aide position will assist the Lead Teacher in providing for all aspects of a successful afterschool program for a cohort of MuncieP3 students at Longfellow Elementary School in Muncie, IN. You will develop positive relationships with the children and provide them with motivational support and guidance.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversee restroom breaks and snack preparation for children Assist children with homework Assist teacher in the creation of a positive classroom community Assist in facilitating and integrating hands-on learning activities and experiences Assist with preparation for and participation in family/school events Develop positive relationships with children and provide them with motivational support and guidance Model appropriate behavior Use restorative practices to foster a positive learning environment Ensure safety and supervision of children at all times Assist in supervising program field trips Meet regularly with MuncieP3 Director and attend staff meetings Practice positive communication with teachers, Program Director, and all support staff Submit all required documentation in a timely fashion Develop and maintain positive family and community relations Communicate daily with families to ensure continued program partnership Perform other related duties as assigned Maintain regular and predictable attendance as required by this position
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (GED) Experience working with children Excellent organization and communication skills Ability to work effectively with diverse children, staff, parents, and community members Ability to create a positive learning environment, incorporating academics, enrichment, and recreation Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship. Requires successful completion of a background check.
Preferred Qualifications:
CPR/First Aid certified CYC certification training TB test clearance How to apply:
