Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Teacher Assistant to join our vibrant educational community. In this role, you will work closely with lead teachers to support classroom activities, foster a positive learning environment, and assist in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs). Your enthusiasm and commitment will help nurture the development of children across various age groups, including preschool and early childhood settings. Responsibilities Assist lead teachers with lesson planning and classroom instruction across subjects such as literacy, math, and social skills. Support children with diverse needs, including those with developmental disabilities and autism, ensuring they feel included and engaged. Implement curriculum activities aligned with Montessori, preschool, or early childhood education principles to promote holistic development. Use American Sign Language (ASL) or other communication methods to facilitate effective interaction with students who are deaf or hard of hearing. Manage classroom behavior by applying positive behavior management techniques and supporting individual behavior plans (IEPs). Help create a safe, nurturing environment by supervising children during activities, transitions, and outdoor play. Collaborate with teachers and specialists to develop tailored lesson plans that meet each child's unique needs. Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and behavioral observations in accordance with school policies. Experience Prior experience working with children in preschool, childcare, or early childhood education settings is highly preferred. Knowledge of special education practices, including working with students with disabilities or autism spectrum disorder (ASD), is advantageous. Familiarity with classroom management strategies and curriculum development for young learners. Experience supporting literacy and math instruction at the preschool or toddler level. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, and team members using clear verbal and non-verbal skills. Previous private school or Montessori classroom experience is a plus but not required.
