OVERVIEW
The South Bend Community School Corporation Adult Education Program is seeking a professional, organized, and student-focused HiSET Test & Program Assistant to support adult learners as they work toward earning their High School Equivalency credential. This position is responsible for administering HiSET exams in accordance with testing regulations, coordinating testing accommodations, and providing general office and administrative support to the Adult Education program. The ideal candidate is creative, driven, highly organized, and committed to providing exceptional customer service to students from diverse backgrounds. Strong attention to detail, data management, and time management skills are essential for success in this role.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
HiSET Testing Administration ? Administer HiSET examinations according to state and testing vendor guidelines. ? Ensure all testing security protocols and procedures are followed. ? Verify student eligibility and identification requirements prior to testing. ? Schedule testing appointments and communicate testing information to students. ? Monitor testing sessions and maintain a secure and professional testing environment. ? Troubleshoot basic technical issues related to testing platforms when necessary. ? Maintain accurate testing records and documentation. Accommodations Coordination ? Assist students with accommodation requests and required documentation. ? Coordinate accommodations in accordance with HiSET policies and program guidelines. ? Communicate with students regarding accommodation approvals and testing arrangements. ? Maintain confidential records related to accommodations and testing services. Administrative & Office Support ? Assist with student intake, registration, and program documentation. ? Maintain accurate student records, files, and data entry. ? Support staff with scheduling, correspondence, and program communications. ? Answer phones, respond to emails, and assist visitors in a professional manner. ? Assist with preparation of reports, forms, and compliance documentation. ? Support special events, orientations, graduations, and other program activities as needed. ? Perform other duties as assigned to support program operations.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Required:
? High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred. ? Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills. ? Experience with office procedures and administrative support. ? Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and general computer applications. ? Ability to manage confidential information with discretion and professionalism. ? Strong attention to detail and accuracy. ? Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
Preferred:
? Experience in education, testing administration, adult education, or workforce development programs. ? Experience working with diverse populations and non-traditional learners. ? Familiarity with student information systems and data management.

Part-time position:
20 hours per week ? Schedule may vary based on testing and program needs. ? Occasional participation in staff meetings, trainings, and professional development activities may be required.
