POSITION TITLE

Part-Time Early Childhood Classroom Support Staff

QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma required Experience working with young children preferred Ability to independently supervise and support up to 12 children ages 3-5 when needed

Lead Teacher and Building Principal

JOB PURPOSE

To assist classroom staff in creating a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment that supports the academic, social-emotional, and behavioral growth of preschool students.

WORK SCHEDULE

Monday-Friday 12:30 PM - 5:30 PM 10-month position with optional summer employment opportunities

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist in maintaining a positive classroom environment that supports student learning and development. Support students in following classroom expectations and routines using developmentally appropriate practices. Provide supervision and assistance to students while teachers conduct small-group or individualized instruction. Engage students in meaningful indoor and outdoor play activities while ensuring student safety. Assist with meal preparation and clean-up, including sanitizing tables, distributing food items, and maintaining cleanliness standards. Supervise and support students during rest time routines. Demonstrate sensitivity and responsiveness to the diverse cultural, linguistic, and socioeconomic backgrounds of students and families. Communicate information to families as directed by the classroom teacher or administration. Participate in professional development opportunities, staff meetings, and required trainings. Build and maintain positive, collaborative relationships with staff, students, and families. Perform additional duties as assigned by the classroom teacher or building administration.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

This is a part-time position with placement on the Teacher Assistant/Classroom Support Staff salary schedule. Benefits include health insurance and paid sick and personal leave.

EVALUATION

Performance will be evaluated in accordance with Board policy governing classified personnel.

Pay:

$11.75 - $13.50 per hour
