Preschool Assistant Teacher St. John's Lutheran Church and Preschool - 3.0 Lexington, KY Job Details Part-time $11 - $12 an hour 22 hours ago Qualifications Behavior management High school diploma or GED Working with children Working with students Performing background checks Full Job Description Job Summary St. John's Lutheran Preschool is looking for a part time Assistant Teacher during the hours of 8am to 1pm, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, approximately 15 hours a week. Employment to begin after August 3, 2026. Candidates interested in this position should submit a resume directly to outside of the automatic apply function of Indeed. Responsibilities Provide love and quality care for the children throughout the day to meet their emotional and physical needs Prepare materials and art supplies for daily activities as directed by the lead teacher Support the lead teacher in classroom management and transitions between activities Assist students with bathroom breaks and washing hands Change students' diapers at least once during the school morning; additional changes may be needed at times Attending staff trainings, meetings, and programs sponsored by the preschool Work collaboratively with classroom lead teacher and other staff members Work with lead teacher to keep classroom organized Must have a passion for working with children! Requirements Minimum of 1 year experience working with children HS diploma or GED required Must be 18 years of age Must have the ability to multitask Excellent communication and people skills Must pass a criminal background check Must work well with children and have the energy and flexibility to meet the changing needs of children.
