Pay Rates for 2025-2026
Preschool and Special Education
71/hour or $13.75 with Bachelor's Degree (transcripts needed)
QUALIFICATIONS
High School diploma or equivalent.
Pass the KY Paraeducator Assessment or have 2 years of college
Must meet Physical Performance Requirements
Such additional qualifications as the Superintendent or Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

JOB GOAL
To work closely, under the supervision of the teacher, with handicapped pupils on a regular basis in an effort to provide them with the mental and physical help and emotional support they need to gain as many benefits from the District's Special
Education program as possible.
BASIC FUNCTION
Assist a certified teacher in providing instruction to individual or
small groups typically in programs with exceptional children or
equivalent programs; monitor and report student progress.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
Assists the teacher in individual or small group instruction, and reinforces learning at school or on the bus to and from school, (i.e., physical tasks such as putting on and taking off outerwear, using the lavatory, toilet training). Assists in utilization of catheter and feeding, depending on student's physical needs.
Performs routine clerical duties, such as preparation of instructional and classroom materials, operates copy machines, sets-up work areas, etc.
Serves as a resource person, if and when requested, to the student's evaluation team conferring about the student to whom assigned.
Provides for his/her own professional growth through an ongoing program of reading, workshops, seminars, conferences, training programs, and/or course work at institutions of higher learning.
Assists in upholding and enforcing school rules, administrative regulations, and local School Board Policy.
Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities by following health and safety practices and regulations.
Rides the bus when assigned by the Principal; assists students loading, unloading and riding the bus.
Provides and performs student health services as directed by Supervisor after receiving appropriate training as required by law.
Demonstrates the ability to lift and assist with physical care of student(s) as needed.
Complies with and carries out IEP objectives and maintains records of student's progress.
Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as may be assigned by the Principal or Superintendent.

Job Requirements
Associate degree preferred.
Citizenship, residency or work visa required
