Job Overview Join our vibrant summer camp team as a Teacher Assistant and play a vital role in creating a fun, safe, and enriching environment for children. In this energetic position, you will support lead teachers in implementing engaging activities, chaperoning field trips, managing classroom behavior, and ensuring each child's developmental needs are met. This paid role offers an exciting opportunity to work with children of diverse backgrounds, foster their growth, and gain valuable experience in early childhood education and camp programming. Duties Assist lead teachers in planning and executing daily activities that promote learning, creativity, and social interaction Support classroom management by encouraging positive behavior and implementing behavior management strategies Supervise children during indoor activities, outdoor play, meals, and rest periods to ensure safety at all times Help facilitate special programs such as arts and crafts, sports coaching, theater activities, or Christian counseling sessions Maintain a clean and organized environment by helping with setup, cleanup, and material preparation for activities Provide individualized attention to children requiring additional support, including those with special education needs or early childhood development challenges Respond promptly to emergencies or injuries by following first aid procedures and reporting incidents to supervising staff Qualifications Prior experience working with children in settings such as daycare, babysitting, tutoring, or camp programs is preferred Knowledge of classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies Certification in first aid and CPR is highly desirable Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with staff, children, and parents Ability to engage children through teaching methods that foster growth in early childhood education and social skills Enthusiastic attitude with a passion for working with kids and supporting their developmental journey This dynamic role is perfect for motivated individuals eager to make a positive impact while gaining hands-on experience in childcare, education, or youth programming.
