To Be Determined Job Description Join us for the 2026-2027 school year! Freedom Elementary is seeking an energetic, positive individual to work with our youngest learners. This individual must be willing to be a team player, build relationships with students, staff, and families, and foster a passion for learning.

Position Details Hours:

6.5 hours per day (plus a 30-minute unpaid lunch)

Contract Length:

146 days per year

Contract Adjustments:

Contracted days will be prorated based on the start date

Education:

Must meet one of the following: 48 college semester hours An Associate's Degree OR High school diploma plus a passing score on the Paraeducator Assessment Exam.

Documentation:

Candidates must provide proof of educational requirements to HR upon recommendation for hire. Compensation & Experience Credit 2026-2027 Pay Scale Starting Pay (Step 0): $16.46/hour Experienced Pay (Step 10): $20.26/hour We value experience! Previous experience working with students? New hires may bring up to 10 years of comparable, full-time, verified experience. The hired applicant is responsible for submitting the BCPS Verification of Experience Form to prior employers for completion and return to HR.

Payroll Note:

While this is an hourly position, the salary is distributed via a year-long contract over 10 months. You will receive 4 paychecks at the end of June.

Salary Formula:
