- Office of Teaching & Learning - Educator Talent and Workforce Development Job Focus Area The Louisiana Department of Education (LDOE) is seeking an Education Consultant 3 to join the Division of Educator Talent and Workforce Development (ETWD) within the Office of Teaching and Learning.
This position plays a critical role in advancing Louisiana's educator workforce by supporting the state's teacher preparation accountability system and educator evaluation initiatives. The Education Consultant 3 serves as a key liaison between the ETWD division and the LDOE data team to ensure accurate reporting and analysis of educator preparation data, including the Teacher Preparation Quality Rating System (TPQRS), mentor and content leader data, and other required state and federal reporting. The role also supports the statewide implementation of the Louisiana Educator Advancement and Development System (LEADS) and the Louisiana Aspiring Educator Rubric (LAER) by providing guidance, resources, and professional learning to preparation providers and school systems. Successful candidates will demonstrate strong analytical, project management, and technology skills, including advanced Excel proficiency and the ability to interpret and communicate complex data. Experience supporting program approval processes, accountability systems, or state and federal reporting requirements is highly valued. Candidates should demonstrate strong data analysis and technology skills, including advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, data visualization tools, and the ability to interpret complex datasets to inform decision-making and reporting. Experience working with education data systems, dashboards, or reporting platforms is preferred. Successful candidates will also possess excellent project management and communication skills, including the ability to coordinate cross-team initiatives, facilitate professional learning, and communicate technical information clearly to diverse audiences such as educators, school leaders, and higher education partners. Job Duties:
Support the implementation and ongoing management of Louisiana's Teacher Preparation Quality Rating System (TPQRS), including verifying data submissions, supporting reporting processes, and providing technical assistance to preparation providers. Manage components of the educator preparation program approval process in accordance with Bulletin 996, including reviewing provider submissions, coordinating feedback, and supporting continuous improvement efforts. Serve as a liaison between the Educator Talent and Workforce Development (ETWD) division and the LDOE data team to coordinate educator preparation data requests, reporting, and data verification. Facilitate the collection, review, and reporting of required state and federal educator preparation data, including Title II reporting requirements. Participate in the on-site review process of teacher preparation programs throughout the state, including reviewing program documentation and collaborating with review teams to evaluate program implementation and effectiveness. Provide guidance and support to teacher preparation providers to ensure understanding of accountability requirements, program expectations, and policy updates. Support statewide implementation of the Louisiana Educator Advancement and Development System (LEADS) and the Louisiana Aspiring Educator Rubric (LAER) by assisting with training, resources, and guidance for educators and preparation providers. Collaborate with LDOE teams to develop and deliver professional learning, resources, and guidance documents related to educator evaluation and teacher preparation. Develop and maintain Excel-based reports, templates, and dashboards to track key performance metrics and support data-informed decision-making within the division. Provide technical support and troubleshooting for technology platforms and tools used across the ETWD division. Collaborate across teams within the Office of Teaching and Learning and with external stakeholders, including school systems and preparation providers, to support educator workforce initiatives.

Work Schedule:
Work days are Monday - Friday; work hours will be determined.
Compensation:
The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience. This position has a Special Entrance Rate (SER) of $28.96/hour.
