Position Overview Gardere Community Christian School is seeking a nurturing, energetic, and dedicated PK4 Assistant Teacher to join our Early Childhood team. This position is ideal for an educator who is passionate about early childhood education and understands that preschool is a critical foundation for lifelong learning. Our PK4 program is an academic preschool program designed to prepare students for kindergarten success through intentional, developmentally appropriate instruction that promotes growth in early literacy, mathematics, language development, social-emotional skills, and spiritual formation. The PK4 Assistant Teacher will work closely with the Lead Teacher to implement engaging lessons, support individual student needs, maintain a structured classroom environment, and foster a love of learning in our youngest students. We are seeking someone who is eager to actively participate in instruction, collaborate with colleagues, and help students develop academically, socially, and spiritually. Responsibilities Assist the Lead Teacher in implementing a high-quality, academically focused PK4 curriculum. Support instruction in early literacy, mathematics, science, social studies, and social-emotional learning. Work with individual students and small groups to reinforce concepts and provide targeted support. Help maintain a safe, nurturing, and Christ-centered classroom environment. Foster positive relationships with students and families. Support classroom routines, transitions, and behavior expectations. Prepare instructional materials and assist with classroom organization. Participate in school events, professional development, and team meetings. Uphold and support the mission and values of Gardere Community Christian School. QualificationsRequired Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Child Development, or a related field. Some experience working with young children in a classroom setting. Strong communication and collaboration skills. A passion for early childhood education and child development. Ability to create warm, engaging relationships with young learners. Commitment to supporting the Christian mission and values of Gardere Community Christian School. Preferred Qualifications Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential Previous experience teaching or assisting in a preschool or early childhood classroom. Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices and early childhood instructional strategies. Experience supporting academic preschool programs focused on kindergarten readiness.
