TITLE:
SPECIAL EDUCATION CONTENT MASTERY CENTER PARAPROFESSIONAL
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School diploma or equivalent Proficient in computer skills (preferably Microsoft office(Knowledgeable of Special Education policies/procedures and exceptionalities Competent in core content areas (English, Math, Science, Social Studies) Knowledgeable of behavior management and teaching strategies Meet one of the following eligibility requirements: Associate degree; At least 48 college credit hours; OR Pass the Para-Pro Assessment

JOB GOAL
To assist and maintain effective operation in Content Mastery Centers as directed by the Content Mastery teachers/teacher.

RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Assist in coordination of day to day operations which includes following the daily schedule of the CMC Center. 2. Assist students in all subject areas as directed by the teacher(s). 3. Assist students with assignment completion and test accommodations as directed by the teacher(s)/IEP. 4. Facilitate and oversee study groups. 5. Assist in duplication of classroom materials, in addition but not limited to maintaining content mastery files. 6. Strictly adheres to policies on confidentiality and safety. 7. Use materials and property of CMC effectively. 8. Promote and maintain a positive learning environment. 9. Work cooperatively with supervising teachers and other faculty members. 10. Attend appropriate meetings and training sessions impacting the operation of CMC, as well as any other meetings recommended by the supervising teacher/principal. 11. Perform any other duties assigned by the principal and/or Director of Special Education.
