Long-Term Substitute Middle School Paraprofessional- Grades 5 & 6
Location:
Parker Middle SchoolAssignment Dates:
Immediate Start- 06/15/2026 (Dates are subject to change)
Description:
Work with Middle School children in 5th and 6th grade, both in general education classrooms and the special education classroom to support students academically, socially, emotionally, and/or physically. This position supports students with specific learning disabilities in the area of reading and written language.QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge of school classroom procedure, including preparation and maintenance of records.
- Knowledge of special education procedures.
- Demonstrated aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities at the middle school (5th/6th) level.
- Experience working with age-appropriate students in a school setting.
- Successful candidate will have a positive attitude and must work well as a member of a team.
- Ability to build relationships with students and colleagues and provide ongoing support and direction to students.
- Ability to consistently implement strategies and programming as outlined by the special education teacher or related service provider.
- Support students to generalize taught skills in classroom setting.
- Work with small groups of students to reinforce previously taught skills.
- Record data on student progress as modeled and reviewed by teachers and/or related service providers.
- Other alternatives to the above qualifications as may be found appropriate and acceptable by the principal, special education coordinator, and Director of Student Services.
