  • Position Overview
  • Amergis Staffing is partnered with
  • schools in the Fall River area
  • and is seeking dedicated
  • Special Education Paraprofessionals/Behavior Technicians
  • to support the
  • Intensive Program
  • at the
  • K-5 and 6-8 levels
  • . This program includes
  • self-contained classrooms
  • and serves students with significant needs. Students in this program may be non-verbal, use augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices, have limited verbal communication, and/or have a diagnosis of
  • Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
  • . Students may present with a variety of behaviors, including non-compliance, aggression, and elopement. This role is best suited for individuals who are patient, resilient, and passionate about working with high-need populations.
  • Key Responsibilities
  • + Provide direct support to students in
  • 1:1 and small group
  • settings + Assist with implementation of
  • behavior support plans
  • and academic instruction + Collect and accurately document data related to
  • student behavior and progress
  • + Support students with
  • toileting and diapering needs
  • as required + Maintain a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment
  • Qualifications & Experience
  • + Comfortable working with students with
  • high needs and intensive behavioral challenges
  • + Experience with
  • de-escalation techniques
  • + Familiarity with
  • Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)
  • principles + Experience with
  • data collection and behavior tracking
  • + Ability to remain
  • calm, patient, and supportive
  • in a fast-paced, dynamic environment + Previous experience in special education, behavioral services, or intensive programs preferred

  • Minimum Requirements:
  • + High School diploma or equivalent required + Comply with all relevant professional standards of practice + Current CPR if applicable + TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable + Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation) + Must meet all federal, state and local requirements + Must be at least 18 years of age
