East Elementary School Job Summary Kids In Action seeks a nurturing and creative person who is able to assist the students in a variety of activities and who can work in a team environment. Responsibilities Support the teacher/teachers in supervising and ensuring the safety and well-being of all children; remain alert to the needs of children as individuals and as a group. Assist in implementing daily routines, activities, and lessons that enhance each child's preschool experience. Help facilitate developmentally appropriate activities in the areas of social-emotional development, fine and gross motor skills, literacy, math, social studies, STEM, and music. Assist with observing children and documenting progress, including anecdotal notes, as directed by the Lead Teacher. Provide additional support to individual children, including working 1:1 when needed. Support positive behavior management and use appropriate de-escalation strategies. Help maintain a clean, organized, and engaging classroom and shared Kids In Action spaces. Assist with daily communication with families at arrival and dismissal. Participate in Parent/Teacher Conferences as requested. Collaborate effectively with the Lead Teacher and program staff. Attend monthly team planning and staff meetings. Complete required professional development hours, including EEC StrongStart training. Maintain current First Aid and CPR certification. Follow all Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) regulations and program policies. Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times. Other duties as assigned Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent qualification. A minimum of 2 years experience as an assistant teacher or similar role. Compassionate and positive attitude. Excellent communication skills. Cooperative and flexible Physically able to set up and take down folding tables.
