Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED required Bachelor's Degree preferred; Sheltered English Immersion (SEI) Endorsement preferred; Experience working with students with and without disabilities; Demonstrate the ability to assist in the inclusion and/or Special Education classroom; Experience working with English Language Learners Bilingual preferred CPI training preferred
Responsibilities:
  • Work under the supervision of building administration, Special Education teachers, and classroom teachers;
  • Assist small groups and/or individual students with progress toward academic, social-emotional, and/or behavioral goals within the classroom, with guidance provided by the teacher;
  • Communicate and collaborate with teachers;
  • Provide direct instruction in an inclusion classroom or small group setting;
  • Ability to modify curriculum;
  • Maintain confidential information;
  • Collect data on student performance as needed;
  • Assist students with daily living/self-help skills;
  • Attend and participate in training opportunities as directed; and
  • Perform supervisory duties, as assigned by school administration.
