Immediately Job Description The Rochester School District is currently seeking a Special Education Administrative Assistant to be employed at the Rochester Memorial Elementary School.
Responsibilities:
  • Maintenance of confidential special education student information, accuracy and compliance of all student services records
  • Maintain accurate and complete site-specific case load files
  • Communicate regularly with staff, parents, and guardians regarding scheduling, evaluations, deadlines while remaining in compliance with State guidelines
  • Prepare, organize and support all necessary paperwork to facilitate meetings
  • Create and maintain copy of student IEP records
  • Provide clerical assistance/support to special education and support service staff members to maximize efficiency in IEP team process
  • Complete timely updates for various data collection points related to student services and special education as requested by the Assistant Superintendent of Student Services and/or their designee
  • Assist school operations in the Main Office as needed
  • Other duties as assigned by the Principal and/or their designee
Skills and Abilities:
  • Proven ability to multitask and meet timelines
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information regarding students, employees and others
  • Genuine interest in supporting the needs of students and staff
  • Effective writing and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form in a professional manner
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of individuals
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students, staff and others contacted in the course of work
  • Has quick and efficient computer skills, with Google Suite, Excel
