Job Description

Job Overview St. Margaret's Day School is seeking a warm, dependable Kindergarten Teaching Assistant to support a joyful, play‑based learning environment. The ideal candidate enjoys working with young children, collaborates well with a teaching team, and brings patience, positivity, and professionalism to the classroom. Responsibilities Support the Lead Teacher with daily lessons, routines, and classroom activities Assist with small‑group instruction and individualized support Foster a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment Help prepare materials and maintain classroom organization Supervise children during transitions, recess, and dismissal Communicate kindly and professionally with children, families, and staff Experience and Skill Set Experience working with young children (Kindergarten or early childhood preferred) Understanding of developmentally appropriate practices Demonstrated ability to work effectively with children of diverse backgrounds and needs Strong communication and teamwork skills High school diploma , 90 hour certification, or CDA required; ECE coursework preferred.
