Responsibilities Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum plans that promote learning through play, exploration, and creativity for school-age children. Lead daily classroom activities, ensuring they are engaging, educational, and aligned with developmental goals. Manage classroom behavior effectively through positive behavior management techniques and clear expectations. Foster a nurturing environment that supports children's emotional well-being and encourages social interaction. Collaborate with parents and guardians to communicate progress, address concerns, and share strategies for supporting children's growth at home. Ensure safety protocols are followed at all times, including supervising children during indoor and outdoor activities and maintaining a clean, organized classroom. Support children with special needs by adapting activities and working closely with specialists to meet individual requirements. Maintain accurate records of attendance, developmental milestones, and incident reports as needed. Assist with training and mentoring assistant teachers or volunteers to promote teamwork and professional development. Experience Prior experience working with school-age children in educational settings such as daycare centers, camps, tutoring programs, or after-school programs is highly preferred. Demonstrated expertise in classroom management techniques that foster positive behavior and engagement. Knowledge of early childhood education principles, childhood development stages, and behavior management strategies. Certification in first aid and CPR is required; additional certifications in special education or child psychology are a plus. Experience in sports coaching, theater arts, babysitting, or Christian counseling can enhance your ability to connect with diverse groups of children. Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with families, colleagues, and community partners. Ability to adapt quickly to changing needs within the classroom environment while maintaining a lively and motivating atmosphere. Pay:
$15.00 - $17.00 per hour
