Assistant Grant Teacher

Assistant Grant Teacher (Pre-K Expansion Program) The Goddard School of Urbana (Carriage Hill) is seeking a caring, dependable, and enthusiastic Assistant Grant Teacher to join our Maryland Pre-K Expansion Program classroom. This position works alongside the Lead Grant Teacher to provide a high-quality early childhood education experience that prepares children for kindergarten through engaging, developmentally appropriate learning experiences. Responsibilities Support the Lead Teacher in implementing daily lesson plans and classroom activities. Foster a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment. Assist with classroom management and supervision of children. Support children's social-emotional, cognitive, language, and physical development. Participate in assessments, documentation, and family communication as directed. Maintain classroom organization, cleanliness, and licensing compliance. Collaborate with teaching team members and school leadership. Ensure all grant and Maryland State Department of Education requirements are followed.

Qualifications Required:

High School Diploma or GED. Maryland 90-Hour Preschool Certification (or willingness to obtain if eligible). Experience working with young children in a licensed childcare or preschool setting. Ability to pass all required background checks and health screenings. Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred:

Child Development Associate (CDA) credential. Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field. Experience in a preschool or pre-kindergarten classroom.
