Job Description
Overview Join our vibrant educational community as an Elementary Math Support Teacher where your enthusiasm and expertise will inspire young learners to reach their full potential. In this dynamic role, you will create engaging lesson plans, foster a positive classroom environment, and support students' academic and social development. Your passion for teaching and commitment to student success will help shape confident, curious, and capable learners ready to take on new challenges. We believe that Christian teachers are called to be mentors and ministers and require all teachers to havea Christian testimony and an active Christian faith and lifestyle. Responsibilities Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards that supports each indiviudal student's zone of proximal development. Have a working knowledge and understanding of mathematical learning progressions to effectively differentiate and support student learning. Foster an inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect, collaboration, and active participation among students. Utilize learning technology and educational resources to enhance instruction and accommodate diverse learning styles. Conduct assessments, including standardized testing preparations, to monitor student progress and inform instructional strategies. Manage classroom behavior through effective behavior management techniques and positive reinforcement strategies. Collaborate with colleagues, classroom teachers, and parents to support individual student needs, including early intervention and working with children with autism or other special needs. Maintain accurate records of grades, and behavioral reports while ensuring clear communication with families about student progress. Support school administration by participating in curriculum development initiatives and contributing to school-wide events. Qualifications A Bachelor's degree from a recognized four-year college or university. An educational degree is preferred. Willingness to work toward state and/or ACSI certification is required. An active Christian faith as evidenced by lifestyle, attitude, and spiritual posture that includes active membership at a bible-believing church in alignment with the Grace Academy statement of faith. Proven classroom experience working with elementary-aged children in a school setting is preferred. Strong knowledge of childhood development principles, early childhood education practices, and behavior management techniques is a plus. Experience with curriculum development in mathematics. Excellent communication skills for engaging effectively with students, parents, colleagues, and community members.
