Job Description

Summary:
Responsible for development, implementation, monitoring, and reporting related to designated content area curricula or homeroom assignment. Associate Teachers perform these responsibilities under the supervision of Teacher/Program Supervisor/Program Coordinator. Current openings include Elementary/Middle School English Language Arts, Elementary/Middle School Math & Science, and Middle School Homeroom. Professional Development We provide exceptional initial and ongoing training in the field of special education, annual tuition and workshop/conference reimbursement, access to journal and research databases, onsite trainings and workshops, and opportunities for promotion within Ivymount! Supervision in the Field of ABA We provide supervision for employees seeking or maintaining their BCBA, BCaBA or RBT credentials Health Benefits We provide access to health & wellness benefits, including Medical & Dental insurance for employees working over 15 hours per week 403(b) Plan We provide a retirement savings plan including both Traditional and Roth contribution options Job Duties and Responsibilities Develop, implement, and monitor content instruction and related materials to ensure alignment with course requirements, Individualized Education Plans (IEP), and student performance Supervise classroom staff Implement classroom/individual behavior management programs Participate in the IEP development process and report on student progress Requirements Bachelor's degree in special education and/or designated content area Maryland Standard Professional Certificate in Special Education or eligibility for Conditional Certificate. If teacher holds a Conditional Certificate, teacher must complete requirements for a Standard Professional Certificate within the required timeframe. Teaching experience in Special Education or a related field, experience in assigned content area preferred Experience supervising classroom staff Cooperative participation within an interdisciplinary team Ivymount provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants.
