Job Description

Works under the supervision of City of Rockville Community Services Program Coordinator to organize and promote programming for a summer social-emotional/social skills programs with children entering first grade through fifth grade.
Job functions include:
Supporting the Coordinator in developing the program plan and activities for a 5-week program Maintaining a structured, safe & fun environment for students entering grades 1-5 Planning and leading themed social skills games and team building activities Supervising children on weekly field trips Overseeing and delegating roles and responsibilities to camp volunteers
Hours:
Up to 20 hours per week. ? ? ?(8:30am-1:30pm (Mon.-Thurs.)) Must have reliable transportation and a current Maryland State driver's license. Must be able to perform the work as required including: Some experience working and interacting with children Being enthusiastic, patient and flexible in the workplace Providing youth with developmental and emotional support Possessinggood communication, organization and time management skills(especially when it comes with being detailed oriented as it relates to programming). ?Must be able to successfully clear a CPS fingerprinting background check. Preferred qualifications include knowledge of social/emotional issues facing youth.
Preferred skills include:
CPR and First Aid certified.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum of one year experience working with youth.

This individual must also have classroom management experience and be able to work with children of various personalities. They should have prior experience with program planning and overseeing a team.
EDUCATION
Must have graduated from high school. ?Must have a combination of training and experience that is equivalent of an associate's degree from an accredited university or college in a social science or closely related field.
