Job Specific Information:

This position will provide direct support to students and teachers in developing behavior supports and classroom management structures, as well as processing with students who require Tier II and III behavioral supports. Knowledge of FBA and BIP development, as well as training in de-escalation strategies and behavior interventions, is desired. This candidate will collaborate with the school counseling team and special education team in providing supports. Staff work hours are 8:15 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. As Jackson Road ES is a Title I school, candidates should possess or be working towards attainment of MSDE certification in the areas of Early Childhood Education or Elementary Education. Provides an atmosphere and environment conducive to the intellectual, physical, social and emotional development of individuals to ensure Success for Every Student. Supervises students in a variety of school related settings. Monitors and evaluates student outcomes. Communicates and interacts with students, parents, staff and community. Develops, selects and modifies instructional plans and materials to meet the needs of all students. Maintains appropriate records and follows required procedures and practices. Monitors appropriate use and care of equipment, materials and facilities.

Ability to provide instruction that reflects multiple perspectives and multicultural education. Ability to infuse technology into curriculum. Ability to work effectively with administrators, colleagues, central office and school based staff, students, parents and community. Excellent oral and written communication and human relations skills.

Education Training Experience:

Bachelor^s degree in applicable field of education from an accredited college or university.

Certificate License:

Meets Maryland state certification requirements in appropriate field of education.
