After School Program Assistant

Duties Assist in supervising children during after school hours, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times Implement structured activities such as arts and crafts, sports, theater, and educational games that promote childhood development and early childhood education Support classroom management and behavior management strategies to encourage positive interactions and respect among children Help with daily routines including snack time, homework assistance, and transition between activities Maintain a clean, organized environment conducive to learning and play Communicate effectively with children, parents, and staff to foster a supportive community atmosphere Hours are 2:00pm to 5:15pm Monday through Friday during the school year. Extra availability during school vacations, half days and closure days is a plus. During the summer the hours could increase to 7am to 3pm if the applicant has availability Experience Prior experience working with children in settings such as daycare, camp, tutoring, or babysitting is highly desirable Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices Familiarity with classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies Experience in special education or working with children with diverse needs is a plus Certifications such as first aid or CPR are preferred but not required; training can be provided upon hire Background in sports coaching, theater arts, or camp counseling can enhance your ability to engage children creatively and supportively Join us in creating a fun-filled environment where children thrive!
