Job Description

About us Mudpies and Lullabies is a small family owned child care and early learning center located in Chelsea, MI We are currently in the process of expanding student capacities in a few of our classrooms, and therefore are looking for warm, caring, professional individuals who love play and who genuinely love children. All candidates for this position must be at least 17 years old, and be available to work 2 or more days, Monday through Friday until 6pm. We offer flexible schedules for college classes and candidates for this position are eligible for sponsorship on
T.E.A.C.H.
Early Childhood Michigan Scholarship Program through the MIAEYC. Pay range for this position will be determined based on education, qualifications, and years of experience. Must be reliable and live within a reasonable distance to Chelsea, MI, as well as be able to pass state required background checks. Unfortunately we are not able to accept candidates needing to bring their own child(ren) with them at this time. Responsibilities Assist in a careful and creative program suitable for children Employ a variety of educational techniques (storytelling, educational play, media etc.) to teach children Observe each child to help them improve their social competencies and build self-esteem Guide children to develop their artistic and practical capabilities through a carefully constructed curriculum (identify shapes, numbers or colors, do crafts etc.) Organize nap and snack hours and supervise children to ensure they are safe at all times Communicate with parents regularly Collaborate with other educators Maintain a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards Skills Proven experience with children Motivated Ability to work independently or with others Understanding of the principles of child development Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms Excellent communication and instructional skills Ability to act as mediator between children Cool-tempered, friendly and reliable
